Exceptional and Unique Gemstones

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java.

We have a new series of gemstones that we have just received from the cutter. Several of these will be posted to this list shortly.

All of the gemstones listed on this page have something that sets them apart from others. All are flawless or nearly so, have interesting and excellent cuts, and great color. In short, the best and most unique you can find for each species of gemstones. This page includes a beautiful amethyst, a great beryl, a citrine, several great opals, a tri-color tourmaline, and a lovely golden sapphire. There was so much I wanted to put here, that I ran out of room and give references to the other gemstones in the series.

We have available a total of eleven fantastic tanzanites in the best depths of colors and the highest clarity. Please see the Tanzanite Page to view all of this group. All of these are being certified by the gemologist who grades many of our better gemstones.

Precious Topaz

The rarest of topaz is named the "Imperial Topaz" with great pinkish and peach colors. Because of a very good buy from one of our suppliers, we are able to offer several exceptional examples of these at about at a price which can be considered below normal wholesale. These are among the most valuable of gemstones outside of the range of stones called precious gemstones. For this variety, examples above 1 carat are scarce and above 2 carats very scarce. The term "precious" gemstones is overworked. Flawless imperial topaz is much more rare than flawed rubies and emeralds that sell for a much higher price.

We also have several examples of what is called a "Golden Topaz" variety of precious topaz. These are rare and beautiful, but not as expensive as imperial Topaz. The colors of these Golden Topaz overlap that of Imperial Topaz, and I am not sure I can see a difference except in price and country of origin.

Pear-shaped Imperial Topaz
7.2 mm X 5.4 mm - .77 Carats

This pear-shaped gemstone is a well cut and slightly broad pear-shape. Its color is a nice gold with a slight trace of pinkish. It is not only flawless to my eyes, but I can see no flaws using the 10X magnifier. While many pear-shaped precious topaz are cut a little thin to save material, this one is full cut and thickness. This would be easily set into a standard mounting and would make a great piece of jewelry.

Price: Only $49.00.
