SuperView 5-element 2" 42 mm Eyepiece	Knight OWL MC 32 MM	MC 2X "Shorty" Barlow

Of the many eyepiece types currently available, the Plossl design is considered the best general purpose design. This design combines a good field of view, very good sharpness, and excellent color correction. These 1-1/4" eyepieces up to 32 mm have an apparent field of view of about 52°. The field of view of the 40 mm eyepieces is about 44°. We are currently offering two different brands of Plossl eyepieces: Konus' own brand and one we call the "Knight Owl MC Series". We consider our premium eyepiece the one that is actually slightly less expensive, the Knight OWL MC Series. We were so pleased with this series, that we decided to import them directly from Taiwan. There has been thousands sold to lot of very happy customers. Our current sales of these are in the 500 per month range. This has resulted in the best price you can find on a high Plossl eyepiece of exceptional quality! Contrast in very important to bring out faint deep-sky features and fine planetary detail. This eyepiece has edge-blackened optics and advanced multi-coated optics. These additional steps in the manufacturing process result in better contrast with your telescope. In any view through a telescope, especially where a bright star or planet is present, their is some light scatter. With standard optics some of this light may be reflected back into the eyepiece and results in decreased contrast. With edge-blackened optics, this reflection is eliminated. Coupled with the advanced multi-coating on this eyepiece, you have a great product. The multi-coated optics on this eyepiece appear green at small angles and magenta (purple) at large angles. Multi-coating is more difficult to produce but results in increased contrast and light transmission. One other fine point might be mentioned. When you tighten down the set screw on an eyepiece, you have a chance of marring the finish of the barrel. As shown in the photo, there is an indented ring on our eyepiece where the set screw fits. This allows you to use less pressure on the set screw on the eyepiece and still keep it it place. There were no compromises and a lot of thought going into the design of this eyepiece. In actual tests side by side, the Knight OWL MC Series eyepieces will equal or exceed the quality of images seen through MUCH higher priced brands. Several major dealers in the astronomy magazines use this same brand at much higher prices. This entire series alone with the barlows are normally available from stock. Barlow lenses are used to increase the power of any eyepiece. Both of these companies use two element coated lenses and give good color correction and sharpness. The eye relief is much better than an eyepiece of the same power would produce. The Knight OWL MC Series ones have the same multi-coated and edge blackened optical surfaces as the eyepieces. Exceptional 2" Diameter Barlow Lens - Includes 1-1/4" Adapter

The 2" eyepieces, 2X Barlow, and star diagonal are as good as the fine 1-1/4" accessories. All have fully multi-coated and edge blackened optics. Included in this series are the three SuperView 5-element eyepieces: 50 mm, 42 mm, and 30 mm. The field of view, flatness of field, and eye relief are excellent. These are modified Erfle design that might also be considered a modified Plossl. There also is a nice 26 mm Kellner in the same brand that we carry. A Kellner is a 3-element eyepiece that produces very good results. With 3-elements instead of 3, Kellers are somewhat less expensive than the SuperView series. We carry the 26 mm Kellner. It is the only high quality 2" eyepiece we can find in its focal length range. BRAND NEW ADDITION! The SuperView 2" series now has a smaller brother and sister! We now have the SV20 and SV15 which are 1-1/4" SuperView eyepieces. These super-wide eyepieces have have a 67° and 65° AFOV, respectively. Those companies who advertise 2" eyepieces of this brand usually are quoting the Kellners. And they sell them at MUCH more than we sell the 5-element eyepieces. The 2" Barlow and star diagonals are great additions to this series. Many of our customers have had trouble believing how we can sell this quality at this price. They are impressive to say the least. The reason our prices are kept low is very simple: we buy direct and have try to keep a low overhead. Remember that Meade, Orion, Celestron, and the other big companies pay less than we do for the same quality. Their overhead is higher so they sell for much more.
