This binocular and digital camera combination was a great new product from Konus. Meade has now taken up exclusive rights to this product so we are now carrying the Meade version. All details appear to be the same on both models. The 8X22 binoculars are armored with black rubber and are fully coated. The digital camera is will take a lot of photographs at three different resolutions. The lens has an advanced multicoating. This combination is great for sports and nature study. These are ultra-compact and so light they can be taken anywhere. The unit folds to fit into a 4" X 5" case with a handy belt loop. The binoculars will focus close for nature study and sports and have good adjustment for differences in your two eyes. They come with belt carry case, neck strap, and a One Year Limited Warranty! This system was only been released into the US last week and there are only a few available at present. It actually is a trinocular. The camera lens lies between the two binocular objectives. If you see an object in the binoculars, it will be in the camera photo. Please note that all photos of the camera are of the Konus model. The Meade model appears the same except for slight color and logo details. There is currently a shortage of this camera and only a few are available each month. Details on camera operation: The camera comes with a USB cable to download photos to a Windows® based computer. It will hold up to 400 photos (low resolution) and has a resolution up to 640X480 pixels. To download the photos, the camera requires a computer with a USB port and a system running Windows® 98, 2000, or ME. We are testing it with Windows XP but it should work fine. While more is better, the computer should be at least a Pentium® 200 MHz with at least 64 MB memory and at least a 2 MB VGA card. The first version of Windows 98 had a minor problem with all USB ports, but you can download an upgrade from Microsoft® if you your system has USB problem. The software is supplied on a CD-ROM disk. It runs all of the camera functions from your computer. For a few of the features, we personally prefer using a program such as Paint Ship Pro©. Any TWAIN enabled image software should work.
